Welcome to Shrewsbury For Groups
Shrewsbury may be one of the finest medieval towns in the country but it could have been made for groups. So much so, it was chosen for the Coach Friendly Award 2012 by the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT), so it's official!
The compact ancient street layout of shuts and passageways are almost entirely encircled by the River Severn which means that everywhere is easy to find and just a short walk away from the coach parks and drop off points.
But what to do when you are here - well, we have more than our fair share of independent shops offering a host of local fair, arts and crafts. There are plenty of attractions to visit too. As befits this 'town of flowers' there are stunning gardens to be found in the Dingle and Quarry Park and the annual Shrewsbury Flower Show is a two day floral extravaganza that is guaranteed to impress.
Talking of events, Shrewsbury has been running its Summer Season since the early 1700s - with this much practice we have just about got the balance right between entertainment and amusement. And throughout the year there are plenty of one off events too - such as the Darwin festival, Christmas Carols in the Square and the International Cartoon Festival to name but a few.
So if you are planning a group visit to Shrewsbury, a call to those friendly folk at the Visitor Information Centre will help you get your trip organised.
